REGISTRATION for FAITH FORMATION.
A Letter and registration form have been mailed to the families who have been involved with our Faith Formation program in the past. If your child has attended our classes before but you did not receive a letter in the mail, please fill out the attached registration form and return it to us as soon as possible.
Sacred Heart Parish/Our Lady of Good Counsel Church Faith Formation programs and Sacramental Preparation for children and teens nourish a sense of belonging to the Sacred Heart Parish family. Our programs range from first grade to adult catechesis. Our Goals are:
- To provide religious formation consistent with the basic traditions and teachings of the Church.
- To provide the opportunity to experience the rich Sacramental life of the Church.
- To involve families in the mission of the Church by answering God’s call to prayer and service.
SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION FOR EUCHARIST AND RECONCILIATION: Children in the first grade or older and are baptized can begin this two year process to prepare to receive First Eucharist.
Students in their 2nd year prepare for the sacraments of Eucharist and Reconciliation as part of their regular faith formation sessions.
SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION FOR BAPTISM: If a child has not been Baptized and is of school age (1st grade), registration in our program is necessary. These children will be welcomed into the Church in the first year.
ON-GOING FAITH FORMATION: As Sacred Heart Faith Formation is a continuous program from grade 1 to grade 8, children are encouraged to continue their faith formation after they have received First Holy Communion regardless of what age they are.
CATECHISTS AND VOLUNTEERS: Faith Formation is always looking for catechists and volunteers to teach the children and teens of our parish. Please take a moment to consider bring the faith to the children and teens of our parish. It is a once a week, 1 ½ hour commitment from October until May. This is a most rewarding ministry to volunteer for and your generosity to give your time and share your faith with the children is greatly appreciated. Please contact the office to volunteer.
REGISTRATION 2025-2026: Registration for the 2025-2026 faith formation school year is now open. All re-registration forms for children and teens who have previously been enrolled in the faith formation program have been mailed out to the families. If you did not receive one you can print the registration letter, form and the parent handbook from the buttons below. PLEASE RETURN THE REGISTRATION FORM BY JULY 1ST.
If you have an incoming first grader, please contact the office to set up a meeting to register your child. (We will also need a copy of your child’s birth and baptismal certificate.)
